Mr Peter Ho, Level Head (Science), from Chua Chu Kang Primary, invited Earth Society to conduct a Global Warming talk for the school cohort on 22 Apr.

On 22 Apr, Earth Society team reached Chua Chu Kang Primary at 7.15 am. We conducted a Global Warming talk for P1 to P6 students from 7.30 am to 8 am. We presented on the effects of Climate change on the world (Droughts, floods, Arctic Ice melts etc) and showcased various solutions that scientists recommended to curb climate change. (Plant trees, Eat less meat, Green energy and 3Rs). We also touched on environmental issues such as Deforestation, the Global use of food resources and World Hunger.

Teachers and students listened attentively to the talk.

Feedback from teachers:

Thank you for coming down to CCKPS. The presentation has many facts and reality checks. I could see that both the students and teachers were engaged.- Peter Ho, teacher, CCKPS

Presentation was clear and engaging. Message was well delivered by speaker. Speaker was able to pace accordingly and kept to the time allotted. – Mark, teacher, CCKPS

Informative session. Introduction was engaging and captured students’ attention. The use of numbers to make comparison to show how our actions can affect the environment was good. However, numbers may be too big for the lower primary kids to understand fully. Going to give Meatless Monday a try. Thank you. - Stella, teacher

Online GW talk @ Springdale Primary (Apr)

Ms Farhana, a teacher from Springdale Primary, invited Earth Society to conduct an online Global Warming talk for the school cohort on 20 Apr.

On 20 Apr, Earth Society team join in the online Springdale Primary Zoom meeting at 7.25 am. We conducted a Global Warming talk for P1 to P6 students from 7.30 am to 8 am.

We presented on the effects of Climate change on the world and showcased various solutions that scientists recommended to curb climate change. (Plant trees, Eat less meat, Green energy and 3Rs). We also presented on the Energy Trilemma that Singapore faced. We have to balance Environmental Sustainability, Energy Security and Cost competitiveness in our search for sustainable energy.

We recommended reducing consumption such as Meatless Monday and green energy such as Solar power and Electric cars as part of the solution to reduce Climate change.

Teachers and students listened attentively to the talk.

After the online talk, Ms Farhana gave us the following feedback :

“A very meaningful sharing that talks about how students can play their part to reduce the effects of Global Warming. Presentation was easy to understand even for the younger audience.

Booth @ JTC Sustainability Roadshow (Jan)

Ms Gyllen, from C&W Services, invited Earth Society to set up an educational booth at the JTC Sustainability Roadshow on 29 Jan 2026. JTC Roadshow was held at Fusionopolis One Atrium with environmental organizations such as NEA, ALBA, Center for Responsible Future (CRF), ENVICOM, MUUSE and WWF setting up booths to promote sustainable living.

On 29 Jan, Earth Society volunteers set up a booth at Fusionopolis One Atrium at 10.30 am. At our booth, participants may watch short video clips on Climate change and environmental protection. Some Participants play a ‘GHG & Water usage’ Quiz to learn about the amount of Green House Gas (GHG) emitted to produce certain type of food. They also learn about the amount of water needed to produce different types of food.

We distributed Eco-website flyer and Climate Change booklet to interested participants at our booth. Some
participants signed up in our email list to receive more information on environmental protection. We manned the booth from 10.30 am to 2 pm.

We are glad that government statutory board such as JTC are actively engaging environmental NGOs to promote sustainable living to their staffs and tenants.

May the Eco messages spread far and wide in Singapore.
