Assembly talk at Presbyterian High and Chung Cheng High (Apr)

Mr Lester Wee, Subject Head (National Education) in Presbyterian High, invited Earth Society to conduct an Assembly talk for the school cohort and set up a booth during the students’ recess on 26 Apr.

On 26 Apr, Earth Society team reached Presbyterian High at 11.25 am. We conducted a Global Warming talk for Sec 1 to Sec 5 students from 11.40 am to 12.30 pm. We presented on the effects of Climate change on the world and showcased various solutions that scientists recommended to curb climate change. (Plant trees, Eat less meat, Green energy and 3Rs). Students and teachers listened attentively to the talk.

After the talk, we set up a booth at the school canteen to pass more info to the students. We manned the booth from 12.30 pm to 1.30 pm. Students and teachers visited our booth to provide feedback for the GW Assembly talk.


Mdm Teo Jo-hsuan, a teacher in Chung Cheng High, invited Earth Society to conduct an Assembly talk for Sec 1 students on 30 Apr. This is the 8th year Chung Cheng High invited us to speak to their students.

On 30 Apr, Earth Society team reached Chung Cheng High at 7.45 am. We conducted a Global Warming talk for the Sec students from 8 am to 9 am. We left the school after the talk.

Assembly talk at Concord Primary and Ai Tong School (Apr)

Ms Eunice Chew, a teacher in Concord Primary,invited Earth Society to conduct an Assembly talk for the school cohort during their Earth Day celebration on 08 Apr.

On 08 Apr, Earth Society team reached Concord Primary at 7.30 am. We conducted a Global Warming talk for the P1 to P6 students from 7.45 am to 8.15 am. We presented on the effects of Climate change on the world and showcased various solutions that scientists recommended to curb climate change. (Plant trees, Eat less meat, Green energy and 3Rs). Students listened attentively to the talk and participated actively in the Quiz after the talk.

Mr Goh Chee Wee, a teacher in Ai Tong School, invited Earth Society to conduct 2 Assembly talks for the school on 23 Apr and 24 Apr.

On 23 Apr, Earth Society team reached Ai Tong School at 7.15 am. We conducted a Global Warming talk for the P5 and P6 students from 7.45 am to 8.10 am. We conducted another talk for the P3 and P4 students on 24 Apr, 7.40 am to 8.10 am. Students listened attentively to the talk and participated in the Quiz after the talk.

After the talks, Mr Goh helped to compile some feedback from the teachers who attended the talk and emailed the feedback to us.

Assembly talk at Holy Innocents High and Juying Secondary (Apr)

Ms Tan Miow Qin, a teacher in Holy Innocents High, invited Earth Society to conduct an Assembly talk for the school cohort and set up a booth during the students’ recess on 18 Apr.

On 18 Apr, Earth Society team reached Holy Innocents High at 1.10 pm. We conducted a Global Warming talk for the Sec 1 to Sec 5 students from 1.25 pm to 2 pm. We presented on the effects of Climate change on the world and showcased various solutions that scientists recommended to curb climate change. (Plant trees, Eat less meat, Green energy and 3Rs). Students listened attentively to the talk and participated actively in the Quiz at the end of the talk.

After the talk, we set up a booth at the school canteen to pass more info to the students. We manned the booth from 2 pm to 3 pm. Many students visited our booth to provide feedback for the GW Assembly talk.

Mr Dayan Tan Ying Peng, Subject Head (Humanities) in Juying Secondary, invited Earth Society to conduct an Assembly talk for the school cohort on 25 Apr.

On 25 Apr, Earth Society team reached Juying Secondary at 1 pm. We conducted a Global Warming talk for the Sec 1 to Sec 4 students from 1.15 pm to 2.15 pm. After the talk, Mr Dayan Tan helped to compile some feedback from the teachers who attended the talk and emailed the feedback to us.

On 01 Apr, Earth Society team reached Maris Stella High (Primary) at 10.35 am. We conducted a Global Warming talk for the P1 to P3 students from 10.50 am to 11.20 am. On 17 Apr, Earth Society team reached White Sands Primary at 8 am. We conducted a Global Warming talk for the P1 to P6 students from 8.15 am to 9 am.
Students listened to the talk and participated actively in the Quiz at the end of the talk. After the talk, we set up and manned a booth at the school canteen from 9 am to 11 am. Many students visited our booth to get more info and provided feedback for the Assembly talk.

Assembly talk at Evergreen and Beatty Secondary (Apr)

Ms Joan Chia a teacher in Evergreen Secondary, invited Earth Society to conduct an Assembly talk for the school cohort and set up a booth during the students’ recess on 16 Apr.

On 16 Apr, Earth Society team reached Evergreen Secondary at 8.40 am. We conducted a Global Warming talk for the Sec 1 to Sec 5 students from 9 am to 9.40 am. We presented on the effects of Climate change on the world and showcased various solutions that scientists recommended to curb climate change. (Plant trees, Eat less meat, Green energy and 3Rs). Students and teachers listened attentively to the talk.

On 22 Apr, Earth Society team reached Beatty Secondary at 7.10 am. We conducted a Global Warming talk for the Sec 1 to Sec 4 students from 7.30 am to 8.10 am. After the talk, Mdm Tan helped to compile some feedback from the teachers who attended the talk and email the feedback to us.

GW talk at Melville Park (Apr)

Mdm Zarin Patel, organizer of Earth Day Function at Melville Park Condominium, invited Earth Society to attend their event on 21 Apr. This is the 2nd time they invite us to their Earth Day event.

On 21 Apr, Earth Society team reached Melville Park at 5.45 pm.
The Earth Day Function started with a Shake Sweat fitness dance. Participants danced to the beat of pop music, guided by a fitness instructor.



After the dance, everyone settled down for a story-telling session. Mdm Zarin Patel told a story about a child helping animals. In-return the animals help the child to plant a field of crops. It was a kind story of humans and animals living harmoniously together and helping each other.


After the story-telling session, it is our turn to conduct a Global Warming talk for the children and parents. We presented on the effects of Climate change on the world and showcased various solutions that scientists recommended to curb climate change. (Plant trees, Eat less meat, Green energy and 3Rs). We also touched on issues such as Deforestation and world hunger.

Children and parents listened attentively to the talk and participated actively in the Quiz after the talk. At the end of the Quiz, participants pledged to be more Eco-friendly, eat more veggie meals and use less plastic bag.

After the GW talk, we were all invited to a plant-based pot luck dinner prepared by the participants. There were Indian food, Chinese food and even salads for everyone.
During the pot-luck dinner, many parents approached us to discuss on the topic presented. Many parents signed up on our email list to receive more info on Climate change.

The Earth Day event ended at 8.30 pm. 25 parents and 15 children attended the Earth Day event.
