Ms Farhana, a teacher from Springdale Primary, invited Earth Society to conduct an online Global Warming talk for the school cohort on 20 Apr.
On 20 Apr, Earth Society team join in the online Springdale Primary Zoom meeting at 7.25 am. We conducted a Global Warming talk for P1 to P6 students from 7.30 am to 8 am.
We presented on the effects of Climate change on the world and showcased various solutions that scientists recommended to curb climate change. (Plant trees, Eat less meat, Green energy and 3Rs). We also presented on the Energy Trilemma that Singapore faced. We have to balance Environmental Sustainability, Energy Security and Cost competitiveness in our search for sustainable energy.
We recommended reducing consumption such as
Meatless Monday and green energy such as Solar power and Electric cars
as part of the solution to reduce Climate change.
Teachers and students listened attentively to the talk.
After the online talk, Ms Farhana gave us the following feedback :
“A very meaningful sharing that talks about how students can play their part to reduce the effects of Global Warming. Presentation was easy to understand even for the younger audience. ”
