Mrs Jasmine Lim, a teacher in Tanjong Katong
Primary, invited Earth Society to conduct an Assembly talk and set up a booth
in the school on 22 Apr. The
talk was part of the school’s Earth Day program for the students.
On 22 Apr, Earth Society
members reached Tanjong Katong Primary at 7.20am. Mdm Cindy Wong escorted us to the school hall for the talk. We conducted a Global Warming talk for P3 to P6
students from 8am to 8.30am. We set up and manned a booth to distribute more info on climate change to the students from 8.30 till 11am.
The talk and booth was well-received by the teachers and
students.
The following are some feedback for the talk:
Teachers’
Feedback:
- The talk was informative. The trainer knows the topic well and
he is able to control the pupils well. Keep him for future talk!
- Great Seminar! Very
informative and interesting! Variety of resources display (e.g. videos,
slides). If there is time for Q & A that comes with prizes, even better.
- Interesting talk. Engaging videos. I’m sure the teachers and
pupils learnt a lot. I know I did.
- Informative and engaging slides and videos. Inspiring and raise
awareness on how we would play a part to protect the world.
Students’
Feedback:
I think saving the world is a good thing to do as many life will
be saved. We can plant trees, eat more vegetables, and give food to the poor
people. – David Chan, P3, TKPS
I enjoyed the talk. I learnt that if global warming is not
stopped, there will be disastrous consequences. I will try to reduce, reuse and
recycle to save the Earth. – Rishabh Parakh, P6, TKPS
Easy to understand. Fun videos! What we are going to do: I signed
an agreement with 2 friends saying we would help the Earth. – Alicia, P6, TKPS
The talk was entertaining. I learnt about the melting ice and how
livestock consume a lot of the world’s resource. I will recycle and try to eat
less meat. – Jasper, P6, TKPS
