Ms Kwek Li Lin, Admin Head in ITE Central,
invited Earth Society to conduct a Health and Environment talk for staffs in
ITE on 28 Feb.
On 28 Feb, Earth Society team arrived at ITE Central (Ang Mo Kio) at
11.15 am. We conducted the talk for about 40 ITE staffs from 11.30 am to 12.15
pm. We presented on Singapore’s Health problem (Obesity, Cancer, Heart disease,
Diabetes). We featured World Health Organizations report which showed
insufficient intake of fruits and veggies causes 10% of heart disease, cancer,
stroke deaths worldwide. We also presented on animal factory farms, global
warming, water shortage and environmental impact of a meat diet. ITE staffs
listened attentively to the talk. After the talk, many
staffs came forward to get more info from us.
At the end of the talk, we join in a salad lunch with the ITE
staffs.
ITE catered a salad lunch for this event to Go Green for health
and for the environment.
