Ms Glenda Foo, Environment Club Student leader in
Nanyang Girls High, invited Earth Society to conduct an Assembly talk for
the Sec 4 students on 23 Apr.
On 23 Apr, Earth Society members arrived at Nanyang Girls High at
1.45pm. We conducted a Global Warming Assembly talk for the Sec 4 students from
2 pm to 2.45pm.
We presented on the
effects of global warming on the world (i.e Arctic Ice melt, Droughts, floods,
Sea level rise etc) and how climate change affects Singapore. (Flash floods,
Dry spells). We also showcased various solutions that scientists recommended to
curb climate change (i.e. Plant trees, Eat less meat, Green Energy, 3Rs) and
what we as an individual can do to help to reduce green house gas emissions.
Students paid full attention to the talk.
After the Assembly talk,
we request students who are interested to come forward to collect extra info on Climate change. Many students approached us to provide
feedback for the talk.
Feedback from Students:
The
talk is very interesting with lots of videos. It really captures the students’
attention. Very good job!
