On 11 Mar, Earth
Society team reached Jurong Primary
at 7.45 am. We conducted a Global Warming Assembly talk for P1 to P6 students
from 8 am to 8.30 am. We
presented on how Global Warming is affecting the world and showcased various
solutions to climate change. (Plant trees, Eat less meat, Green energy and
3Rs). Students listened
attentively to the talk.
After the talk, we set
up a booth in the school canteen from 8.40 am to 11 am. At our booth, we showed
cartoon video clips and passed Eco-leaflets to students. Many
students and teachers came forward to get more info on Climate change and gave
feedback for the Assembly talk. We left Jurong Primary at 11 am.
Very concise and
informative sharing. The actual video clips and data of what’s happening out
there concretised the message and aim of the talk. I know both students and
staffs have learnt a lot. Thank you so much.
- Ms Roshidah karyeo,
Teacher, JPS
The talk was very
informative for our pupils. Pupils could relate to the facts that were unpacked
in their own terms. E.g Producing 4 hamburgers will cause Deforestation to an area
equivalent to the size of a classroom. The info shown was recent and updated. -
Mrs Wendy Looi, Green Club Teacher, JPS
Very interesting and
relevant talk. Especially the segment on local (Sg) context. A very good
platform to create awareness. - Mr Yeong Hoong Munn, Green
Club Teacher, JPS
Interesting
presentation, passionate presenter. I will take up the Meatless Monday topic
with the class. - Mrs Katherine Leong, Teacher, JPS
I learn that we have to
take care of Mother Earth. If we don’t, the ice will melt, the trees will be
destroyed and the animals will die. – Dayana Chek, P5 student, JPS
The talk was awesome! I
learnt that Global Warming is serous. I learnt that I can save the environment
by not littering and eating less meat. – Aradhana, P3 student,
JPS
The presentation was
very educational and we learnt how to save our Earth. – Chew Ching Ern, P5
student, JPS
