Mr Yalini Mohan Rajkumar, a JC2 student in National Junior College, invited Earth Society to conduct a 30 mins talk for the JC1 students on 10 Apr. Mr Yalini was the Student IC of NJC 2019 Earth Week Celebrations.

On 10 Apr, Earth Society team reached National Junior College at 2.45 pm.
We conducted a Global Warming talk for 550 JC1 students from 3 pm to 3.30 pm. We presented on the effects of Climate change on the world and showcased various solutions that scientists recommended to curb climate change. (Plant trees, Eat less meat, Green energy and 3Rs). We also touched on issues such as Deforestation and world hunger. Students and teachers listened attentively to the talk.

After the talk, Mr Ang Pow Chew, principal of NJC, went on stage to address the students. He encouraged the students to be more aware of environmental issues and to reduce consumption to preserve the resources on the planet.

Student’s Feedback

I thoroughly enjoyed the presentation. I learnt something new, astonishing and thought-provoking on every slide of the presentation. I am sure this talk has sparked awareness, not only in me but others also. It would motivate many to take a step to eat less meat in order to play a role in being responsible to reduce Climate change.
