Dulwich College, an International school with many European students,
invited Earth Society to conduct an
Assembly talk for their Senior School students on 20 May.
On 20 May, we arrived at Dulwich College at 8.35 am. Mr Richard Lee,
a senior school teacher, welcome us at the reception counter and escorted us
into their school hall.
We conducted a Global warming talk to 200 senior school students
from 8.50 till 9.30 am. We presented on how climate change is affecting various
countries in the world and what can we do to reduce global warming. (plant
trees, eat less meat, green energy, 3Rs). The students listened attentively to
the talk and many students asked questions during the Q & A session after
the talk. We observed that students in international schools are more willing
to express their views on the topic presented.
When Mr Richard asked how many students are willing to go veggie 1
day a week to help to reduce climate change. Almost all the students raised
their hands ! We are hugely encouraged by the enthusiastic response from the
students and have more Hope for the future of the world.
Feedback from students:
- Good selection of videos to help understanding the topic.
- Useful Satellite maps showing change in deforestation.
- Good questions and finishing sentences.
- Very useful information, learnt a lot.
- Some slides are too congested and didn't have time to take
in all the information.
- Let the video play rather than editing just a short clip.
