Mr Ernest Lai from Singapore Buddhist Mission (Youth) invited
Earth Society to conduct a Health and Environment talk to 70 youths during
their annual Camp Ehi-Passiko youth event on 20 Dec. This year’s CEP event was
held at Camp Challenge @ Admiralty Road.
On 20 Dec, Earth Society members reached Camp Challenge at 6.10pm.
We were greeted by the youths singing campfire songs for CEP camp. We conducted
a talk on how our diets affect our health and the environment from 6.20 till
7pm. We were invited to join them for dinner after the talk. Participants of
the event are very attentive during the talk and many wrote feedbacks for the
talk.
Youths’
Feedback:
It has certainly been an eye-opening
experience to gain the knowledge about how our food is produced and the cost of
producing it. I will certainly be more aware of my diet now. – Chee Jay Sian, CEP event participant.
It provides a different perspective to Global
warming, consumption, agriculture and many others. Very informative. It
triggered my initiative and concern to what the world may be in years to
come. – Javier Teo
The talk was very insightful and I learn a lot of things that I never knew before. A lot of effort was put into the talk. Thank you. – Lai Yin Min
