Mr Soh Thiam Soon, Project Manager of ITE
College East, invited Earth Society to participate in ITE Eco-conference on 19 Jul
2013. For this year’s Eco-conference, ITE invited various eco-friendly organizations
to set up exhibition booths to showcase environment messages to the students from
9am to 5pm. They have also arranged a series of Environment talks for ITE
students from 2.30pm till 5pm. Some topics presented included “Singapore:
Taking on the Climate Change Challenges” & “Think Green, Live Green, It
starts with you & me!”
Organizations participating in the event
included NEA (National Environment Agency), N-Parks, Nature Society, Tzi Ji (慈济),
Salvation Army and Earth Society.
On 19 Jul, Earth society members reached
ITE College East at 8.30am. We set up Exhibition panels and TV monitor to show
students the impact of Climate change on the planet. We distributed leaflets on
Environmental Websites and Climate Change booklets to student who visited our
booth. We manned the booth from 9 till 5pm. We also attended some of the talks from
3 to 5pm.
At the end of the event, Mr Soh visited
all the booths to thank us for contributing to the success of ITE
Eco-Conference 2013.
Let’s hope more schools join in to educate the students on environment issues and encourage them to adopt a more eco-friendly way of life.
