Kampung Senang invited
Earth Society to participate in their Green & Healthy festival @ Sing Expo
Hall 3A on 04 Sep (Sat). The Green &
Healthy Festival seeks to create an awareness on the myriad of eco and positive
lifestyle practices that a modern individual can adopt for our own health and
to protect the planet.
The event features Eco-talks,
Health talks, food cooking demonstration, music performance at the stage area. There
are also educational booths, veggie food booths, farmers market for the family to
enjoy.
During the event, Kampung
Senang invited Mdm Tin Pei Ling, MP for Macpherson, and
supporting organizations to launch
the “Green and Healthy Monday” movement.
If a person go
1-veggie-day-a-week for 1 year, he/she can reduce 230 kg of green house gas and
save tons of food and water resources.
Earth Society members
join in the launch of Green and Healthy Monday. We patronized the various
veggie booths and delighted in tasting the different types of yummy veggie
food. Our volunteer dress up as Mr Chicken and walk around to display a “Less
Meat, Less Heat” sign to the participants.
We also conducted an
Environment talk at the stage area from 3.30 to 4pm and participated in the
Smoothie Record Challenge from 5.30 to 6 pm. Kampung Senang successfully
entered the Singapore Book of Records by attracting 220 people to drink
smoothies together during the Green and Healthy Festival event.
