Attendance: 120 ITE students, 4 ITE lecturers


The Talk was very informative, inspiring and had really reacted awareness to the audience. The pictures and videos show very clear statement of the current situation.

GW Seminar @ ITE Tampines (11 Oct)



Ms Gan Geok Hong, a lecturer in ITE Tampines, invited Global Warming Study group to conduct a GW seminar and set up a booth at ITE Tampines to promote environmental awareness among the students.

120 ITE students attended the Global Warming seminar. They listened attentively to the 1 hr presentation. Many of them signed up for more information at our booth after the presentation. [Some lecturers later commented that it is rare for the students to be so attentive during lectures. :) ]

It was great having your workshop for our committee members at our Sub-Committee Camp 2011. All of us from SP ENV felt your strong passion & the need to let more people know about your efforts as well as the environmental message that you and your team are spreading. We would like to invite you again to spread the message to the rest of Singapore Polytechnic not just to SP ENV club.

I understand the seriousness of Global warming and rising sea levels. This talk is very detailed and informative. I will reduce the consumption of beef/meat and involve more in Saving Earth events to put in an effort in helping the Earth.

Yes, it is engaging and informative. However, I just feel that going all veg is not possible for everyone yet. I agree that meat consumption should be reduced and we should all live together in harmony with the animals and the natural environment. Singapore Polytechnic Env Workshop (07 Oct)



Singapore Polytechnic Environment Club leader, Miss Elaine Sam, invited Mr Low to give a 1hr presentation + Q&A to 20 SP Env club students on 07 Oct. SP environment club is having a 3 day event to teach club members on the environment & survival skills such as trekking, topography, outdoor cooking etc.

The students are very interested in the talk. They asked many questions on Global Warming & how to help the planet. The session was extended for another 20 mins due to the lively dialogue session with the students. : )

Ecokidd Childcare center GW talk (06 Oct)



Ecokidd Childcare center @ Yio Chu Kang invited Mr Low to present on GW during their children day event on 06 Oct.
40 nursery students and 20 parents attended the talk. Mr Low had to employ many techniques he learnt in school to keep the toddlers engaged in the talk. :)

Pro-teach Tampines GW talk ( 05 Oct )

Pro-teach Tampines student care center invited Mr Low to give a Global Warming talk to 50 students on 05 Oct. Students are attentive during the talk as they have to complete a GW worksheet after the talk. Those who complete the worksheet with all the answers correct would get a prize!! [This is one way to attract students to pay attention during the talk. :) ]

Happy Feet event @ Fort canning Park on 25 Sep



Singapore Veggie Thursday team organized a Happy feet Walk cum Carnival event at Fort Canning Park on 25 Sep. The event aims to encourage people to go veggie on Thursdays to reduce their environmental footprint and to improve their health.

GW Study Group participated in the Happy Feet Event. We have a booth to distribute free Climate change booklets to the public. Our volunteers also dress up in animal costumes to take photos with participants.

We have a story-telling corner to tell kids story on climate change. The kids love our stories. :)

Al Gore’s Climate Reality Project. [Must-watch]

Al Gore’s group launch the “24 Hours of Reality” Project on Sep 14.
24 presenters in 24 time Zones presented on how climate affected their country.It is broadcasted live online from September 14 to 15, over 24 hours, representing 24 time zones and 13 languages.

There are lots of videos to watch.
However, Al Gore gives a really nice 1 hour summary during the last hour.
Just watch the 1st video, "Hour 24 : New York" to get the whole picture.
[ In the video, Al Gore speaks of the science behind the climate "new normal"
(long periods of drought followed by short periods of heavy rainfall),
gives an update of the disasters happening around the world and gives a point-to-point rebuttal of the climate deniers. ]
